Our Heritage
Holdwell Components is part of the Royal Group, whose roots in Indian industry go back to 1936. The Group began as a merchant, moved into steel commodity trading in 1965, and opened its first steel re-rolling mill in 1977 — a hot-forging operation that brought the Group into the railway sector for the first time, years before Holdwell itself existed. Holdwell was conceived in 1994 with a single mission: holding the rail well. A dedicated rubber production unit began manufacturing rail pads and rubber compounds for Indian Railways, and the hot-forging discipline the Group had already built in steel became, in time, the same process behind Holdwell’s own elastic rail clips.
Today, the company is a one-stop provider across the railway track ecosystem — rubber, plastic, and metal — manufactured entirely in-house, with the same compounding laboratory serving both the railway components business and the sealing solutions line launched in 2011.
Our Vision
We aspire to become one of the world leaders in railway track solution provider, and to create better tomorrow.
We focus on utilising innovative and latest technologies to leverage the best resources, knowledge and experience of the industry for Railways.

Group Founded

Steel Commodity Trading
The Group enters steel commodity trading, the foundation for its later manufacturing operations.

First Steel Re-Rolling Mill
A hot-forming steel manufacturing plant opens, and brings the Royal Group into the railway sector for the first time — a manufacturing discipline Holdwell would later apply directly to its own elastic rail clips.

Holdwell Components Founded
A dedicated rubber production unit is set up, manufacturing rail pads and rubber compounds for Indian Railways, and formalising the mission — holding the rail well — that gives the company its name. Products are approved by Indian Railways and RDSO.

Sealing Solutions Vertical Launched
Rubber compounding expertise extends beyond the rail corridor into sealing rings — 80mm to 2200mm — for DI, PVC, HDPE, and GRP pipe, used in potable water, oil, and gas infrastructure.

STRAIL Partnership
Holdwell partners with STRAIL (Germany), bringing a proven rubberised level-crossing system — active in more than 50 countries since 1976 — to the Indian market.

First Works Contract Delivered
Holdwell’s first Works Contract under the STRAIL partnership is completed: eleven level crossings and close to 100 track-metres of panelling, installed by hand.

Today
Group turnover above USD 13 million and 1,000+ people across the Group, manufacturing more than 10 kilometres of track fittings a day, with clients in India and in Spain, Sweden, the UK, Australia, Peru, Colombia, Malaysia, and Middle East countries.
